Question by Jane Simon: HELP! I’m always sick, tired, and at 18 have no life… Anyone?
I dropped out of high school a year ago because I was ALWAYS sick. I finished my degree online and am going to university online. I lost all of my friends because I can’t leave the house and can’t have anyone come over. I can’t even go to the grocery store with my family because I’m so sick. i’m worried I will have no future because I am soooooo sick all of the time.
I’m always tired.
My stomach always hurts. It burns, aches, is nauseous, crampy, feels like someone is stabbing it, and is ‘fluttery’. I feel like a heartbeat in my stomach and I have a sever pain (usually sharp) just under my ribs on both sides. The left side of my stomach/gi tract always hurts.
I’m dizzy.
My joints/bones hurt.
I’ve already been diagnosed with celiac disease and have been gluten free for three years, but nothing has changed at all. I just want to be normal and live a normal life. I want to have relationships and get a job and be able to support myself. I want to be a normal 18 year old… I want my license but can’t get through a drivers ed course because I feel so sick.
Please, if you have any suggestions or thoughts as to what could be wrong with me, I would really appreciate it.
(Family history includes: Colon cancer, Ulcerative Colitis, Diverticulitis)
Thank you so much.
Also, I can never gain weight no matter how much I eat. I’m 5’7 and weigh between 99-103lbs.
Food makes me incredibly sick. No matter what I eat, or don’t eat, I feel incredibly sick afterwards.
Thought these too would be important details.
I’ve been to the doctors more times than I can count. They are all left scratching their heads.
