Keep going. It’ll be worth it in the end either way just to see whether it makes any difference or not.

How long were you on predisolone?

Im on 40/35 mg of predisolone and 100 mg azathiprone. When I try to drop the predisolone dose the symptoms return.

      No end in sight.

i was on it for almost 2 years. to be honest it was the only thing that ever helped, but the long-term side effects aren’t something i want to deal with.

Its only been 2 months for me.

yeah, i was told by the doctor anyone who’s on it for more than a year starts getting bone density scans to make sure you’re not getting osteoporosis and stuff like that. i had one in the summer and they said it wasn’t great but not horrible either, but if i didn’t stop now that i’d probably be in rough shape by the time i hit 30. i’m 26 now.

i have been on gluten free diet for celiac disease for 3 years now. im really used to it but the gluten free diet might not apply to someone with crohns. There is a blood test and intestinal test!

I know how you feel. I found out that I have Celiac Disease ealier this year. The gluten-free diet is hard to get used to, and never seems to get better. Turns out most of the people in my family have it too. I have also been on prednesone for 6 months. They also have me taking protonix. They also took me off dairy until my intestine heals up. So I know your pain when it comes to the diet part.

Be careful with the french fries. They could be contaminted if they are fried in the same oil as other breaded things.
I was just diagnosed this year too…along with Sjogrens Syndrome. My mom and brother have celiac too so was well used to how to eat. But, why prednizone? And why surgery? Thats a new one on me.

hahaha. you miss bread..try doing it for 2 yrs pal. when you dine out order a salad with no croutons or meat..it’s not that hard.

      anyways, have fun with celiac..haha.

Wheat takes me down. We need to get our head around eating live whole foods. Enzymes, antioxidents… real food. If it’s in a box, I’m going to try and not eat it. Watch David Wolfe on utube for inspiration. Let the healing begin!

      hahahahhaha

Dude, try the GF diet for much more than a month! If your having symptoms that are this bad you will want to give your body a LOT more time than one month to bounce back. You really have a lot of options that you haven’t looked into. Life AFTER gluten is really pretty darn good!

    15. ApacheBoneknife says:

You should check out a book called ‘Breaking the Vicious Cycle.’ It talks about the specific carbohydrate diet which puts Crohn’s into remission for most people that follow it.
