Questions And Answers On Gluten Free Living

Posted by admin Comments (0)

Joseph asks…

Any websites on Dairy Free AND Gluten free living?

I’m lactose intolerant, I recently find out I’m also allergic to gluten.

The Henry’s/Wild Oats has plenty of food options, but it’s so hard for me to give up bread and find foods at regular stores that have no gluten.

Are there any websites that help with this?? support groups, forums, recipes, suggestions on what to buy…

etc.

I know I can “google it”, so please dont suggest it.

Wayne asks…

How to go dairy free, gluten free and soy free?

My husband and I are interested in dairy free gluten free living for a variety of reasons. We are attempting it for one month to see if we accomplish our goals. However we are also anti soy because of the hormones. Our goal is to eat as natural and organic and unprocessed as possible. Also as cheap as possible. Please give me any tips you might have recipes or other resources…thank you!

My brother’s family has the same problem – they all have celiac with soy and dairy allergies.
They subscribe to celiac disease magazines and say there are alot of celiac websites with recipes.
They don’t go hungry, but if you’re looking to lose weight, they didn’t lose weight either.

Gluten is the sticky protein that can be found in grains like barley, wheat and rye. Gluten sticks to the intestines and can have an effect on the health of everyone- even those who aren’t allergic to gluten. www.WatchMojo.com discovers that cutting gluten from your diet can mean that your body will be able to benefit from the nutrients you eat- meaning better night’s sleep, healthier looking skin and even a smaller waist line.

Can going gluten free help with a weight loss plan? Check this.

Here is my update about being on a gluten free weight loss diet for one week. I had trouble getting the recommended 2300 calories per day, eating 6 meals per day, and getting as much cardio as I needed. I attribute these things to a slow start and poor preparation. switch2glutenfree.com

Gluten-Free Diet Without a Celiac Diagnosis Part 3

    Posted by admin Comments (0)

We continue talking about why it can be totally appropriate to start a gluten-free diet without a confirmed celiac disease diagnosis. Only 3-4% of celiac disease is diagnosed. Most docs are going to miss your diagnosis and you will lose the benefit of getting the gluten out of your system.

Brandi’s Next Food Network Star entry video. Everyone keep your fingers and toes crossed! Update, August 5 – I made the top 15!!! Thank you, everyone, for your support. I hear you, though! Gluten free living is about so much more than salad. Unfortunately, that’s often the best I can do at work. Here is a link to some gluten free recipes I’d contribute to the Food Network for starters … www.dcgluties.com/category/recipes. Tomorrow night, I’m making gf pizza bites with blue cheese sauce and dried figs. Yum! Maybe I’ll have a new video on this page soon. I hope you’ll give me your vote so we can talk about allergy-free cooking on the Food Network. PS – Keep it clean. My grandma reads this page!
